ADA Code Guidelines
Hotels must offer rooms at a ratio based upon the total room count for ADA guests (1 ADA room per 25 rooms up to 100 and 1 ADA room per 100 rooms thereafter). In order to meet ADA requirements for a guestroom, the below guidelines must be followed.
The operating mechanism must be accessible at a height between 48” and 15” off the floor.
If an obstruction exists between a window treatment and the guest, then it may not exceed 25” in width and 34” in height and the subsequent window treatment control must be a maximum of 44” from the floor.
Controls and operating mechanisms shall be operable with one hand and shall not require tight grasping, pinching, or twisting of the wrist. the forces required to activate controls shall be no greater that 5 lbf.
