5 Tips to Make Your Bedroom Feel Like a 5-Star Hotel
During these uncertain times, there are few things we miss more than the ability to travel. As partners in the hospitality industry, we at Warp & Phil are constantly dreaming up new places to visit, hotels to stay in, and destinations to cross off our bucket list. However, we understand the importance of being smart and staying home to ensure the safety of our friends and families. So, in order to bring some hospitality into our own homes, we at Warp & Phil are sharing our top 5 tips to make your bedroom feel like a 5-star hotel!
Hospitality at Home
One of our favorite parts of traveling is throwing down our suitcase and flopping on that crisp bedding of a plush hotel bed. There’s no better feeling after a long day of travel! Here are some tips to make your own bed have that same 5-star hotel bed feeling:
1. Use white linens and nice sheets
There’s a cleanness and simplicity to a bed with white linens. Now is a great time to treat yourself to new bedding or simply throw your old ones in the wash for a fresh, new bed feel! Not only do white linens create a cloud-like bed, but they upgrade your entire space! Also, as you probably know, the higher the thread count, the softer the sheet. If you can afford to splurge on a quarantine treat, we recommend nice new sheets with a thread count of 300 or more.
2. Don’t use a fitted sheet
Many hotels don’t use those tricky fitted sheets that are more of a hassle than help! A trick to make your bed feel more like a 5-star hotel bed is to use an oversize flat sheet rather than a fitted sheet. Make sure those corners are tucked in nice and tight!
3. Find the perfect pillow combo
Nothing feels better than throwing your head back into the stack of pillows in an upscale hotel room. Bring that feel to your own home with a perfect pillow combination! Typically, hotel rooms come with 2-4 down pillows and two fiber-fill pillows for lots of options. Mix and match different options to find what works best for you!
4. Think about your lighting
Try changing out those harsh white lights with a warm-colored bulb in a lower wattage to make your room extra cozy. Also, lamps or small lights, rather than just an overhead light, are a good way to wind down for the night! This kind of lighting is helpful for relaxing the brain and creating a better sleeping environment.
5. Focus on your bedside table
Take a less is more approach with your bedside tables, just like upscale hotel rooms tend to! Do you have the essentials? A lamp, alarm clock, and a good book? Keep it pared down and only add one or two small touches to personalize it. We recommend a nice candle, vase of flowers, or a photo of a loved one to make it uniquely yours!
With those tips in mind, we hope you take the time to have some #HospitalityAtHome!
